so this kind of a part 2 of a blog. the first part can be found here and that's just me wondering if milk and water are technicaly the same colour? 
I asked around on a bunch of questions websites for professional nerds to read and attempt to answer; as well as some nerdy friends of mine. :) 

and here's where I am now: 

Reflection: When a wave meets a boundary, it can be reflected or transmitted. Reflection can be partial or complete. Reflection can also involve a phase flip (change of phase of 180 degrees.) 

Refraction: Occurs when a wave crosses a boundary from one medium to another. A wave entering a medium at an angle will change direction. 

Diffraction: Refers to the "bending of waves around an edge" of an object. Diffraction depends on the size of the object relative to the wavelength of the wave.

which brings me to my question: are water and milk technicaly the same colour? 
in short no. sad right? let me explain like in BBC Bitesize amounts. 

Water is technicaly colourless because it has total reflection going on compared to milk. partly because water and milk have different densities.
(for a few reasons including how milk is made) but mainly because when light hits water, most is REFRACTED and DIFFRACTED and some is REFLECTED. 

with milk, less light is diffracted and more light gets absorbed.
so in conclusion, translucent objects are different coloured to opaque objects.

Milk v Water

there are 3 types if people when it comes to the "coffee v tea" argument
1. those who like coffee
2. thise who like tea
3. joksters who like to bring up a third drink option they like or saying they like both drinks equally.

not that one option is better than the other, these questions are normally used to break the ice when meeting new people.

icebreakers are cool, but asking for favourites can get boring if you don't follow up. i mean you're already in a conversation, so why are you afraid of conversing with the other person/people?

anyhoo, usually the 3rd option for coffee or tea involves someone saying milk, water or hot coco.
and i've a thought that been bugging me for a while now which is
if white is the colour that reflects all colours, then are milk and water technically the same colour?

i posted the quested on Quora and i got some responses that i don't fully understand, but what i can take away is
1. milk is opaque while water is transparent
2. milk and water both aren't pure, they both have lots of  other chemicals mixed into them
3. (linking on from point 1) 
water, milk and air have different densities
and light diffracts, reflects and refracts at different angles. SO they appear differently

then there are the more technical answers which are confusing to grasp without visual explanations/someone to converse to

so that's why i wrote this blog, so i can share with people with better understanding and get a satisfying answer (because i feel like my head is going to explode)
