Eco Flying πŸ›«πŸŒ„πŸ›¬

this blog is a real #ThrowbackThursday to a piece I wrote 4-5 years ago. back when I thought I'd actually be a "proper" blogger. I know, I know it's sad. boo hoo...

but this blog isn't about ME. it's much bigger than 1 puny human, it's about... The Future of Earth. 🌟



travelling is such a fun concept. it takes us out of our daily lives and places us in a whole other mindset.
however it is killing our planet. climate change predictions from 2050 are visible in 2022. this is UNACCEPTABLE. no, more than that, this is

back to the blog: my ideas to improve air travel 
1. why can't the wings be made of solar panels? in addition to burning fossil fuels for take off, because that's the real important bit.
the wings can be made of solar panels so that the plane can fly cruelty-free and the panels can help recharge the battery mid-air 

2. this one IS already in place. aeronaughtic engineers over the world are designing better engines and stuff to improve the flying experience both for people and planet 

3. airport regulations. this could work in parrallel to government, where both parties can set regulations and targets regarding emissions to seriously cut down.
personally I LOVE the idea of biofuels and the thought of cows wearing fat-backpacks (or buttpacks) puts a smile on my face

The Internet is a lot like an airport πŸ‘¨‍✈️πŸ‘©‍✈️πŸ§‘‍✈️

this is not a new thought I thunk. I've had this thought since Ralph wrecked the internet. 


it all began when I first saw the TCIP model for how devices are connected to the internet and how ALL THAT works.
I tell you, before that day I use to go page after page to understand what the internet is and HOW it works and NOBODY thought about bringing up the TCIP model.
so that day became a core memory for me...

for those of you unfamiliar with the TCIP model.
it a STACK* of 4 layers (although some people use something called the "OS model" which is more detailed, but in a good way.) 

*I say STACK because stacks are a type of data structure that works on a First in, Last out basis.
in the model above (because we're not talking about PHYSICAL objects, so gravity isn't a factor.) the first layer is the Network layer, sometimes called the IP layer. 

and this is where my airport thought comes in! 

these 4 or 7 layers (depending what model you use) 
your device, and all of our devices are all connected to routers, firewalls, gateways, hubs etc and they use information from our device's IP addresses and port numbers to understand what we're doing and to send those packets of information across the internet and back again with new information that we're all looking for. - all within seconds or milliseconds.

a lot of articles online say the internet is made from all of our interconnected devices and then stop there. which left me feeling unsatisfied.
and people telling me to think of IP or MAC addresses like a home address that IDs our homes.

some people go a step further and say the internet and networks are like buildings and roads with cars. 
and I suppose you can go with a road, railway etc metaphor,
but I vibe with my airport methaphor. I mean internet protocols sound like various airliners! 
and transportation all serve the same purpose so there's no BIG DEAL and "we see what we want to see, when we're ready to see it." ✅☑️✅

I said at the start when "Ralph wrecked the internet" when I saw that movie and Ralph and Venelope were in the internet, I saw what I wanted to see: an airport/railway station with vendors serving Internet protocols. πŸ’»πŸŒ

I don't have anything else to add to this post, so I'm ending things here and idk when I'll write another blog for nobody to read/find.

so this kind of a part 2 of a blog. the first part can be found here and that's just me wondering if milk and water are technicaly the same colour? 
I asked around on a bunch of questions websites for professional nerds to read and attempt to answer; as well as some nerdy friends of mine. :) 

and here's where I am now: 

Reflection: When a wave meets a boundary, it can be reflected or transmitted. Reflection can be partial or complete. Reflection can also involve a phase flip (change of phase of 180 degrees.) 

Refraction: Occurs when a wave crosses a boundary from one medium to another. A wave entering a medium at an angle will change direction. 

Diffraction: Refers to the "bending of waves around an edge" of an object. Diffraction depends on the size of the object relative to the wavelength of the wave.

which brings me to my question: are water and milk technicaly the same colour? 
in short no. sad right? let me explain like in BBC Bitesize amounts. 

Water is technicaly colourless because it has total reflection going on compared to milk. partly because water and milk have different densities.
(for a few reasons including how milk is made) but mainly because when light hits water, most is REFRACTED and DIFFRACTED and some is REFLECTED. 

with milk, less light is diffracted and more light gets absorbed.
so in conclusion, translucent objects are different coloured to opaque objects.

Milk v Water

there are 3 types if people when it comes to the "coffee v tea" argument
1. those who like coffee
2. thise who like tea
3. joksters who like to bring up a third drink option they like or saying they like both drinks equally.

not that one option is better than the other, these questions are normally used to break the ice when meeting new people.

icebreakers are cool, but asking for favourites can get boring if you don't follow up. i mean you're already in a conversation, so why are you afraid of conversing with the other person/people?

anyhoo, usually the 3rd option for coffee or tea involves someone saying milk, water or hot coco.
and i've a thought that been bugging me for a while now which is
if white is the colour that reflects all colours, then are milk and water technically the same colour?

i posted the quested on Quora and i got some responses that i don't fully understand, but what i can take away is
1. milk is opaque while water is transparent
2. milk and water both aren't pure, they both have lots of  other chemicals mixed into them
3. (linking on from point 1) 
water, milk and air have different densities
and light diffracts, reflects and refracts at different angles. SO they appear differently

then there are the more technical answers which are confusing to grasp without visual explanations/someone to converse to

so that's why i wrote this blog, so i can share with people with better understanding and get a satisfying answer (because i feel like my head is going to explode)

Lysa's Guide To The Gregorian Calander

DISCLOSURE: for the record, i Lysa Shah Ali don't who Julian or Gregory were or when they were born. what i do know is that Gregory's calander has 3 less days and takes in account for the leap day for a more accurate way of telling time. which, i mean, what even is time? never the less, Gregory did a good job noticing time that the Romans left out, which if we look into Roman history, i feel like happened a lot (i mean 0) But enough with the introduction, i'm here to rant about Gregory's flaws.
take a look at the Gregorian calander, look carefully. (i'm going to say "gregorian calander" so many times in this blog i'm going to hate hearing it after) every month seems to follow a pattern Right? there seems to be 1 consecutive "31 not-31" day rule for every month Right? WRONG! there is a 31 not-31 day rule, but it gets broken. and if we take a look at the Gregorian calandr again, we can spot that the WORST month is August.
AND that is why AUGUST is my LEAST favourite month. not because i "can't stand the heat with my cold, reptillian, British blood" because it gives me OCD and now you have it too

hydration 101

recently I have figured out how to stay hydrated. typically lots of people tend to use words of profanity therefore my suggestion to stay hydrated is to take a sip of water whenever you hear these words of the profanity group.

sure, it'll feel strange and unnatural at first, but then you'll be grabbing your water bottle without any thoughts.
