phases of the moon ๐ŸŒ‘๐ŸŒ›๐ŸŒ“๐ŸŒ”๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ–๐ŸŒ—๐ŸŒœ

according to Wikipedia: the free encyclopaedia, the lunar phase or Moon phase is the shape of the Moon's directly sunlit portion, which can be expressed quantitatively using areas or angles or described qualitatively using the terminology.
the lunar phases gradually change over a synodic month (29.53 days)

the phases of the moon (as shown in the diagram) are
๐ŸŒ‘ New Moon
๐ŸŒ’ Waxing Crescent
๐ŸŒ“ First Quarter
๐ŸŒ” Waxing Gibbous
๐ŸŒ• Full Moon
๐ŸŒ– Waning Gibbous
๐ŸŒ— Third Quarter
๐ŸŒ˜ Waning Crescent

—————————————————————————————————————————
—————————————————————————————————————————

sounds simple enough. though the names can be confusing as "Quarter" is normally shown differently in drawings, while in this case there are 8 total phases and it takes 4 phases to get to another quarter, hence the name quart.

still easier to get your head around how Lunar Eclipses work.
on paper it just looks normal, after all the Sun is WAY BIGGER than the Earth and the Moon.

Web3 GAMING..?

Polium is using the new Web3 structure for all those gamers out there. Is it a good idea though?  ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคจ

Cloud/Server gaming is still  a new concept, and only some productions have pulled it off well. and the whole point of Web3 and Decentralisation gives us: The People more  control on online platforms.
Cloud Gaming is a great idea because it gives us more space to store ENTIRE game files, however with games with seriously INTENSE graphics, story etc you may need to delete those game files when buying new games.
there could also be a "gamer library" I guess? ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿคก

but imagine server gaming at another level... where people  actually BUY Virtual Storage at their preference with all the needs they need to play the games they want with little physical stuff in their house/room/etc.

and to think, all this re-structuring is possible  because the Mothers and Fathers of the internet. whoever they were chose for the TCIP stack to be free for all to use as we go and change for all our convinient internet needs. ✨

FYI Polium releases the console in 2024. stay tuned I guess?

TOP 5 THINGS THAT KEEP ME UP AT NIGHT

I'll admit, this isn't an original blog idea. this is actually a plagarised idea from The Odd1sout (link to his video in his name. also 5 YEARS? time flies)

1. my phone! ๐Ÿ“ณ
night times are peaceful, quite and most importantly DARK. so if I want to workout in my room, I can (quietly)
other people do still want to sleep at night. but I am able quietly play some tunes ♪ before going to sleep myself.

2. if I'm not working out, I'm probably dazzled by the stars or the moon
๐ŸŒƒ๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿคฉ I'm a sucker for the shiny things in life.

3. Death & Existentialism. ☠️
for the record, I don't have highschool regrets. I was a cool/nice kid in school, I paid my dues in and out of class and made good friendships.

if anything I get scared "what if I peaked young? my life only just started, surely there has to be more I can do/be a part of?
what if the friendships I made are just work/school friendships, and that everybody will naturally move on from me as I have nothing else to offer? what if I went into a cryosleep for 100 years?"

4. my upload schedule. ๐ŸŒ BECAUSE I have weak self esteem, I desparately seek the approval of others by sharing memes online.
it's not much, but if I can get a laugh it'll make my week...

5. Human Inconsistency. ๐Ÿง
people are confusing. I'm no psychologist, I can't understand why people do what they do, but sometimes I find myself being scolded by someone who moments before instructed me to do *that very thing*
and even when I'm not currently in trouble, I see people doing NOT what they're told and NOBODY is policing the area to set things straight. (ironic how people are only scared of being caught/punished)

it's no wonder The Batman is a popular costumed hero.
I wish a was a street vigilante...

SHOCKING NEWS: I got this app called "refined" on my phone which is like Ted except it has text articles, not videos. AND LOOKY HERE WHAT CAME UP! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿคฏ

Thunder and Lightning ๐ŸŒฉ️

now my question for you, the reader in this very short blog is, "why do we say 'thunder and lightning' when light strikes first? because light travels faster than sound, so shouldn't it be said 'lightning and thunder?'" ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ”Š

it's even in alphabetical order, putting lightning first.
which is how lists normally are read/said anyway.
so why do we say it reverso?  ๐Ÿค”

to end this blog piece, why don't I share you a homemade Tesla coil‽ "here goes nothing I guess?"

The Internet is a lot like an airport ๐Ÿ‘จ‍✈️๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍✈️๐Ÿง‘‍✈️

this is not a new thought I thunk. I've had this thought since Ralph wrecked the internet.

it all began when I first saw the TCIP model for how devices are connected to the internet and how ALL THAT works.
I tell you, before that day I use to go page after page to understand what the internet is and HOW it works and NOBODY thought about bringing up the TCIP model.
so that day became a core memory for me...

for those of you unfamiliar with the TCIP model.
it a STACK* of 4 layers (although some people use something called the "OS model" which is more detailed, but in a good way.)

*I say STACK because stacks are a type of data structure that works on a First in, Last out basis.
in the model above (because we're not talking about PHYSICAL objects, so gravity isn't a factor.) the first layer is the Network layer, sometimes called the IP layer.

and this is where my airport thought comes in!

these 4 or 7 layers (depending what model you use)
your device, and all of our devices are all connected to routers, firewalls, gateways, hubs etc and they use information from our device's IP addresses and port numbers to understand what we're doing and to send those packets of information across the internet and back again with new information that we're all looking for. - all within seconds or milliseconds.

—————————————————————————————————
a lot of articles online say the internet is made from all of our interconnected devices and then stop there. which left me feeling unsatisfied.
and people telling me to think of IP or MAC addresses like a home address that IDs our homes.

some people go a step further and say the internet and networks are like buildings and roads with cars.
and I suppose you can go with a road, railway etc metaphor,
but I vibe with my airport methaphor. I mean internet protocols sound like various airliners!
and transportation all serve the same purpose so there's no BIG DEAL and "we see what we want to see, when we're ready to see it." ✅☑️✅

I said at the start when "Ralph wrecked the internet" when I saw that movie and Ralph and Venelope were in the internet, I saw what I wanted to see: an airport/railway station with vendors serving Internet protocols. ๐Ÿ’ป๐ŸŒ

I don't have anything else to add to this post, so I'm ending things here and idk when I'll write another blog for nobody to read/find.
Bye for now ๐Ÿ‘‹

so this kind of a part 2 of a blog. the first part can be found here and that's just me wondering if milk and water are technicaly the same colour?
I asked around on a bunch of questions websites for professional nerds to read and attempt to answer; as well as some nerdy friends of mine. :)

and here's where I am now:

Reflection: When a wave meets a boundary, it can be reflected or transmitted. Reflection can be partial or complete. Reflection can also involve a phase flip (change of phase of 180 degrees.)

Refraction: Occurs when a wave crosses a boundary from one medium to another. A wave entering a medium at an angle will change direction.

Diffraction: Refers to the "bending of waves around an edge" of an object. Diffraction depends on the size of the object relative to the wavelength of the wave.

which brings me to my question: are water and milk technicaly the same colour?
in short no. sad right? let me explain like in BBC Bitesize amounts.

Water is technicaly colourless because it has total reflection going on compared to milk. partly because water and milk have different densities.
(for a few reasons including how milk is made) but mainly because when light hits water, most is REFRACTED and DIFFRACTED and some is REFLECTED.

with milk, less light is diffracted and more light gets absorbed.
so in conclusion, translucent objects are different coloured to opaque objects.
